Help! My Xbox 360 Just Flashed Me!
The Xbox 360 is the #1 console system on the market, but when you're playing during those hot summers and your system won't start up, it makes you angry. Trust me, I've been there plenty of times and have done all the research in the world on the death of Xbox 360's. I have went through over three Xbox 360's in the last two years only because of one problem... the ring of death.
The opening of your Xbox 360 will void your warranty!
Here are some quick warranty notes:
- The Xbox 360 warranty last for one year of purchase date.
- Once the seal is broken or your warranty is over, you must pay 140$ to Microsoft for a refurbished Xbox 360!
- There are many cool modifications you can do once your 360 has been opened (firmware mods, homebrew, etc).
If you do have an expired warranty, then there's no reason not open up your Xbox 360. This paid guide has videos and about a 90% success rate, and if doesn't work, you get your money back.
Be sure to check if you have the correct problem via the light code worksheet below:

hello ive been getting the 3 rrod at first but after taking my 360 apart. ive been getting the 2 rings of death but not from overheating. the fans go to top power and than shut off. after that when i do the trick where u press sync and eject 4 times i get 1 ring of death. can u help me please
I would check the power to the fans, and make sure that the cord is all the way in. While that doesn't sound to logical of a fix, your problem is very unique.
im having the same prob as the first person there. the fans run at top speed then just shut off while the lights are still flashing red. i have felt the GPU and the CPU thing on top of them are getting exremely hot in less then 5 secs plz tell me what is wrong
